Final Project Ideas
What do you believe about how students learn and what do you want to improve for fall 2021? Make a TO-DO list to keep yourself organized around this project!
Change: I want to create an environment where students can collaborate/interact with each other while supporting MLLs/ELLs in my classroom.
Belief: I believe that learning happens when interaction and collaboration among students and teachers occur (small group, large group, one-one).
Media/Technology: How to make it happen? Probably a collaborative document/tool (Google Docs, Google slides, PearDeck, BoomCards). I haven’t decided which specific media tool to use yet.
Since it will be my second year teaching in a first-grade bilingual position (at a different school), I will develop an action plan to implement with my students during Fall 2021.
TO-DO List:
Decide what media/technology tool to use: Since I've been writing in class about my beliefs, it wasn't too hard to make a decision on what I believe about how my students learn and to select something to improve/change for fall 2021.
My learning experience: I will reflect on what I've learned in this course and how I can take my learning experience to support me in the development of this project.
Organize my ideas for my narrative: I will write and organize my ideas based on my beliefs and change.
I will develop steps for my action plan: I will include different steps of actions I could take to get my students to collaborate among them and with teachers. These steps will include different media tools and how my beliefs and change are going to be reflected using these.
Work on my Pecha Kucha: I've watched tutorials, videos, samples of other Pecha Kucha videos from other students in this course and also visited the PK website. Even to learn how to say it. After I’m done with my narrative, I need to work on getting the images I need (20) and then use outlines to then record my audio.
I think this is going to be such an important project. MLLs need to interact with each other, even more so, probably (imo), than learning English; well at first at least.
